Over this past summer, Bounce Imaging had the privilege of bringing on two interns – Kyra Savard Graeb and Tyler VanHelene.
Kyra, a current student at Cornell University, is studying to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Kyra’s talent and knowledge in this field allowed her to take on various tasks throughout her summer internship with us. She conducted multiple test assemblies of a new design of our tactical camera – where she then drop-tested the new assemblies and evaluated internal components for damage.
Kyra utilized her proficiency in SolidWorks to design a frame and casing for internal components of a Bounce Imaging range extender, specifically to simplify the assembly process and she worked closely with our software team to test the installation of an Android and iOS software update. We sincerely appreciate all of the hard work and efforts that Kyra contributed to Bounce Imaging.
Tyler is a current student at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and is also studying to obtain his Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Tyler had many opportunities and projects he worked on for us throughout the summer specifically focused on constructing a sophisticated 3D print farm to be used at our R&D office located in Waltham, Massachusetts. These printers are used for in-house prototyping and early-stage development of potential new products. Tyler created this 3D print farm for us with full functionality – including full ventilation, remote operation and monitoring, an integrated spray booth, and an attractive robust build. After weeks of CAD, strategic planning, carpentry, installation, server management, and cyber security efforts – the farm proved to be a summer-long endeavor that challenged Tyler in many aspects and introduced him to skills he will cherish throughout his career.
