Bounce Imaging Congratulates Chairman Dr. Ronjon Nag on Appointment as Officer of the Order of the British Empire in The King’s Birthday Honours
AI pioneer, inventor and entrepreneur recognized for services to entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence
BUFFALO, N.Y., 2026/06/26 — Bounce Imaging congratulates Professor Ronjon Nag, Chairman of Bounce Imaging, on his appointment as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in The King’s Birthday Honours 2026. The official Overseas and International Honours List recognized Professor Nag, of Stanford University and Founder of R42 Group, “for services to Entrepreneurship and to Artificial Intelligence.”
Professor Nag is widely recognized as a pioneer in artificial intelligence, mobile computing and entrepreneurship. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he has helped advance early AI-enabled technologies for speech recognition, handwriting recognition, predictive text, mobile user interfaces and app-store infrastructure. His companies and ventures have been acquired by or contributed technology to global technology leaders, and his work has been recognized with major honors including the IET Mountbatten Medal, IEEE Silicon Valley Outstanding Engineer Award, IEEE-USA entrepreneurship recognition, CogX AI Lifetime Achievement recognition, and induction into the Silicon Valley Engineering Hall of Fame.
A prolific inventor and entrepreneur, Professor Nag has brought that same combination of technical depth and company-building experience to Bounce Imaging since the company’s early days. As an investor, Board Member and now Chairman, he has advised Bounce Imaging through key stages of growth, including the period when the company won the $1 million Verizon Powerful Answers Award for its throwable tactical camera technology. His guidance has supported Bounce Imaging’s evolution from a breakthrough 360° throwable camera platform into a broader family of real-time visual, thermal and tactical imaging systems designed to help first responders, law enforcement officers and service personnel gain situational awareness before entering dangerous environments.
This recognition is especially meaningful for Bounce Imaging because of the company’s long relationship with British safety and security professionals. British special operators were among the first to use Bounce Imaging systems in operational and combat environments as early as 2019, and their feedback contributed to the systems’ improvement and development. UK police agencies have likewise used Bounce Imaging technology for years to help keep officers and civilians safer, starting with Lancashire Constabulary back in 2017.
Given our long relationship with British first responders and service personnel, we were excited to see our Board Chair awarded this special recognition for his work in entrepreneurship and engineering,” said Francisco Aguilar, Founder and CEO of Bounce Imaging. “We are grateful for Ronjon’s guidance and service to our company, including today as he uses his world-class expertise in AI to advise us on our work to incorporate advanced edge-AI detection models into our 360° visual and thermal vision systems
The honor also reflects a deeply personal British journey. Nag spent formative years in Northampton, and his story is rooted in the opportunity created by his family’s move to the United Kingdom, including the account of his father arriving in the UK with just £3 in his pocket. That path—from immigrant family experience to British education, global invention, entrepreneurship and service—has remained central to Professor Nag’s work as a technologist, educator, investor and mentor.
“It’s a real honor, and one I share with the team,” said Professor Nag. “Bounce is the kind of company I love being part of, using smart engineering to keep people safe.”
Bounce Imaging extends its warmest congratulations to Professor Nag on this distinguished honor and expresses its deep gratitude for his ongoing guidance, technical counsel and support of the company’s mission to help first responders and service personnel see danger sooner, make better decisions, and return home safely.
